adidas helped celebrate Damian Lillard reaching the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 2019 by releasing the adidas Dame 6 Playoffs sneaker a few months later. It was part of a "Playoff Pack" that included the Dame 6 done up in other colors as well.
This version of the Dame 6 featured a grey layered textile upper with a unique webbed lacing system that included a series of red and cyan straps on one side of it. It also gave a not-so-subtle nod to a 1990s video game that inspired it by featuring the words "ALWAYS ON FIRE" above a pixelated cheat code.
But in our expert opinion, it was the performance features of this Dame 6 sneaker that put it over the top. From its Lightstrike cushioning on the interior to its Supergrip Plus outsole on the exterior, adidas incorporated all kinds of special touches into it to make it a true celebration of Lillard’s accomplishments. The adidas Dame 6 Playoffs was released on January 1, 2020, for a retail price of $110.
