Pharrell signed a deal with adidas back in 2014, and he has been releasing sneakers through the shoe company in conjunction with his Humanrace label ever since. The adidas Tennis HU Pharrell Holi Blue is one of the many creations to come out of this partnership.
Many of Pharrell’s adidas sneakers have helped celebrate other cultures around the world, and this particular sneaker was no different. It was put together to pay homage to the Holi Festival that takes place in India. It featured a bright blue mesh upper that took on a gradient effect thanks to the powder dye used to make it. It also included pops of white on the tongue tag, laces, and heel, and it even had Pharrell’s name in white on the back.
But in our expert opinion, some of the best parts about this sneaker were things you couldn’t see. It had Flywire technology incorporated into it to make it more supportive and an EVA midsole that provided extra cushioning. The adidas Tennis HU Pharrell Holi Blue was released on March 16, 2018, when it retailed for $110.
