Product Description

Reflective of the waters of Lake Michigan, the St. Alfred x Asics Gel-Lyte III "Lake Shore" released in June of 2013 at St. Alfred in Chicago, with a worldwide release later that month. The upper of the Lakeshores GL3 is composed of a blue-hued grey suede through the toe and mid-foot with a pale blue suede wrapping around the heel. The Lake Shores sit atop a beige midsole that represents the sand of the lake's shore and a darker khaki-colored outsole which reminds one of wet sands. Unique to the St. Alfred GEL-Lyte 3 is it's lack of underlays on the mid-foot ASICS stripes. Rather, the stripes of the Lakeshore GLIII are one solid suede piece with stitching around the die-cut spaces, creating the striped effect. This was the first ASICS Gel Lyte III model to use such a styling and allowed it to truly stand apart from its predecessors. Inside the Lake Shores is an incredibly soft, white leather sock liner and a stitched-in footbed composed of memory foam. Retailing for $150, the Lake Shores Gel Lytes caused mass chaos on the St. Alfred servers during their online release as sneaker enthusiasts yearned for their impeccable materials and undeniably wearable colorway. The St. Alfred x Asics Gel Lyte III "Lake Shore" are highly-touted for a rare mix of form, fashion, design, and comfort.
