Streetwear giant BAPE teamed up with MEDICOM to release the BAPE x Mickey Mouse 90th Anniversary Figure Red Camo variation as part of a celebration of the character's long history and influence. The anniversary collaboration is just one of several times the Japanese fashion label has partnered with Disney to bring fans products that reflect the styles of both companies.
The Mickey Mouse figurine features a classic pose and design for the Disney character. Mickey's large ears, eyes, and typical off-kilter smile showing a red tongue are all on display. A tail protrudes from the back of the collectible, and Mickey's hands, including red camo gloves, are clasped behind his back. As its name suggests, the BAPE x Mickey Mouse 90th Anniversary Figure Red Camo features a slightly different take on the typical shoes-and-shorts combination for which the character is known. In lieu of solid red shorts with white buttons and a pair of golden shoes, this figurine includes both shoes and shorts in a camo pattern.
The red is still present, but it is a somewhat lighter tone than the typical palette Mickey wears. Black buttons on the front of the shorts complete this signature look.
The BAPE x Mickey Mouse 90th Anniversary Figure Red Camo was released in November 2019 for $139.
