New Jersey-based graffiti artist Brian Donnelly, better known as KAWS, launched his career by creating a series of 2D paintings back in the early 1990s. But it wasn’t long before he began creating 3D works of art, including his now-iconic Companion, which was a grayscale figure inspired by Mickey Mouse that KAWS has reimagined in a variety of ways over time. He went on to earn a legion of fans, including many celebrities like Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, and even BTS members who have collected art prints by KAWS.
Many of the art prints by KAWS that have been released over the years have featured his characters, like Companion, in some form or fashion. His KAWS Share Print (Signed, Edition of 500) is one example of this. A lot of the art prints by KAWS were released exclusively through his website and were only available via raffle, which has made them especially hard to get for even the most dedicated collectors.
While quite a few art prints by KAWS include his characters, there are also others that deviate from this norm. For instance, the KAWS Far Far Down Print (Signed, Edition of 100), which was released in 2018 in very limited quantities, is a bit of a departure from KAWS’ other work while still staying true to his unique style. KAWS has been able to make a mark on both the art world and pop culture through his art prints and his other artistic creations.
