Nike celebrated the 30th anniversary of the original Air Jordan 1 KO sneaker by re-releasing it in a variety of colorways in 2015. The company also continued to put out new colorways for this particular AJ1 well into 2016, with the Jordan 1 Retro KO Sail (2016) being one of the many releases.
The Jordan 1 Retro KO Sail featured a white canvas upper with pops of varsity red on the top of the tongue, the Swoosh, and the "Wings" logo. It also stayed true to the initial KO design by including Vandal tooling in the upper part of the shoe, and it even had the letters "AJKO" worked into the "Wings" logo to identify it.
Our favorite aspect of this shoe was the clean look that it had thanks to the white upper. It helped the red accents to pop more than they might otherwise, and it also highlighted the huge influence the Vandal had on this shoe. The Jordan 1 Retro KO Sail (2016) was released on March 5, 2016 when it retailed for $140.
