New Balance used its Tokyo Design Studio expertise to craft a series of shoes that includes the RC_1300 Tokyo Design Marbled Blue, drawing some inspiration or creativity from old proverbs and the art world. This release comes on the heels of a successful silhouette in the same vein that used flower-like colors for its inspiration.
The marbled effect on the upper part of the RC_1300 silhouette draws the eye, and it is perhaps one of the most striking aspects of the Blue/Grey colorway for this shoe. The bluish color is mixed with a pale shade of white here, and dark mesh panels over the toes and across the sides of the shoe contrast nicely with the lighter colors that make up the colorway. The New Balance "N" is stitched prominently to the sides of the sneaker with a blue outline for sharpness, and the bed of the heel sports a soft cream color, adding yet more contrast to the black outsole of the shoe. Finally, the New Balance RC_1300 Tokyo Design Marbled Blue is topped off with a tongue and laces in grey.
The New Balance RC_1300 Tokyo Design Marbled Blue was released in May 2020 and retailed for $190.
