Product Description

One of the original sneakers worn by Penny Hardaway returned in 2012 in the form of the Nike Air Flight One "Orlando" release. While not officially called a Penny signature shoe, the Flight One was most definitely a Penny Hardaway shoe. And Michael Jordan once had to borrow a pair from Penny when his Js were stolen back in the day. Originally released in 1995, the Nike Air Flight One features a unique upper with pod-like foam at the ankle and on the side of the ball of the forefoot. The mini-Swoosh on the front toe and the stitched horizontal lines gave the Flight One a truly unique look and the "1" on the heel tab made it obvious the design was created with Penny Hardaway in mind. Of course, the original colorways were often inspired by and intended for Penny’s team at the time, the Orlando Magic. Like those originals, the "Orlando" Air Flight One used a combination of black, white and royal blue to bring back that nostalgic feel for Penny fans. Though it had never been released as a retro before, the 2012 All Star Weekend release of the Air Flight One "Orlando" had the sneaker world buzzing thanks to its supposed limited production. Along with the Orlando Magic colorway, the "Galaxy" version with glow-in-the-dark features also released that same weekend in February of 2012. The Nike Air Flight One "Orlando" disappeared from shelves and webstores within a matter of hours upon release.
