Product Description
Nike introduced the Nike Air Force 1 Low Doernbecher (2018) (Women's) as part of its Freestyle 2018 collection. This collection featured six sneakers that were designed by six children who were all patients at OHSU Doernbecher Hospital in Portland, Oregon at the time.
The design for this Nike AF1 Low Doernbecher was created by Chloe Swientek and made to bring about awareness for cystic fibrosis. It featured a blue, purple, and white colorway, and it had several touches that were very personal to Swientek, such as her basketball number appearing on both the left sneaker's toebox and the right sneaker's heel. The word "BREATHE" also made an appearance inside the translucent Swooshes on the lateral sides of the sneakers.
But what we came to appreciate most was that Swientek went all out when it came to trying to educate others on cystic fibrosis. She put the word "CURE" and the letters "CF" on the sneaker's midsoles. The Nike Air Force 1 Low Doernbecher (2018) (Women's) was released on December 14, 2018, and it originally retailed for $90.
