The Obsidian Nike Air VaporMax 2021 Flyknit sports a light black Flyknit upper with dark black edging at the collar. The black webbed eye stays with a hit of racer blue to help reduce scrap waste in the production process. Racer blue also forms the side-panel Nike Swoosh and the translucent TPU heel counter with debossed VaporMax branding. Pull tabs at the heel and tongue help ease on/off for this pair of kicks, and the padded sock liner enhances comfort. Underfoot, a full-length translucent VaporMax Air unit provides a lightweight feel with every step, while black-speckled recycled Nike Grind rubber hits the outsole at the forefoot and heel.
The element of this shoe we find most enjoyable is the inclusion of volt yellow in the colorway.
