In Mexican culture, Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a multi-day holiday that involves family and friends gathering to celebrate the lives of those who have passed. The reflective sugar skulls pattern on the Air Force 1 pays tribute to La Calaca, an instrumental part of the altars created during the holiday which denote the journey of life after death. The white represents the sugar, while colors bring to life the creative design details of the traditional offerings.
