To create the Nike Air Max 90/1 sneaker, Nike took the upper from its Air Max 1, which was first released in 1987, and fused it with the sole from its Air Max 90, which was released a few years later in 1990. This led to the development of a hybrid sneaker that combined each of these elements to make them look new again.
