The Nike Air Max 90 Athletic Club takes a popular running shoe silhouette, dresses it in colorful contrasting hues, and gives it a vintage feel with retro branding.
The Athletic Club Nike Air Max 90 sports an upper with a white textile base overlaid in gray suede. The tumbled red leather of the side panel Nike Swoosh matches the TPU eye stays and heel tab. Other hits of TPU appear in blue on the eye stays and in gray in a side-panel cutout window. The tongue is gray textile and the sock liner with a padded collar is white. The white foam midsole houses visible Max Air for cushioning and a red TPU panel for durability. The outsole in blue and red rubber sports a waffle pattern for traction and impact absorption.
What we enjoy most about this sneaker is the branding. Air Max branding appears in the TPU windows and above the mud guard and Nike branding graces the heel and outsole. But it is the old-school Athletic Club branding on the tongue and white insoles that sets this sneaker apart. The Nike Air Max 90 Athletic Club debuted on January 29, 2022, for $130 retail.
