The camo colorway takes inspiration from the camouflage patterns used by the United States military and pays tribute to the country's armed forces.
The shoe features a fully camo-patterned upper consisting of different shades of green, brown, and black to create a unique and distinct aesthetic. The sole is completely covered in black for a contrasting effect and includes a translucent full-length Air unit on the midsole. The Nike Air Max 97 Country Camo USA bears distinct branding elements such as the blacked out Swoosh placed just above the midsole on both sides, a USA flag patch on the tongue and an Air Max branded heel tab.
