The Nike LeBron 17 University Red (GS) is a basketball shoe designed for and in collaboration with NBA star LeBron James. It is part of Nike's ongoing LeBron James signature line, known for its innovative technology and performance features.
The shoes have a predominantly red upper made from a unique material called Knitposite, which combines Flyknit construction with heat-molded yarns. The red hue extends to the midsole, which combines Zoom Air units and Max Air cushioning for a responsive and comfortable ride, and outsole, which has an exaggerated traction pattern to provide better grip and traction while moving on the court.
Our favorite feature of the Nike LeBron 17 University Red (GS) is the use of Knitposite material on the upper. It reinforces the upper making it more durable while also maintaining a flexible and supportive fit which is necessary for dynamic movements on the court. The grade-school sized shoes were first released at the retail price of $160 on November 15, 2019.
