The Nike SB GTS Return Safari was released as a tribute to Nike’s 1987 "Safari" sneaker designed by Tinker Hartfield. It draws inspiration in its colorway from high-end couches and sneakers.
The GTS Safari colorway is based on black, monarch, and cobblestone colors. Smooth black leather is chosen for the Nike swoosh, eyestays, tongue, and mid-foot overlays. Black laces through punched eyelets are selected for closure. The upper is based on a cobblestone patterned leather mudguard, quarter panels, heel, and collar. Monarch leather is used for the vamp and inner lining, and accents the tongue tab branding. The branding on the heel is embroidered in black. The shoe has a white midsole and a black outsole to complete the look.
