Product Description
The Reebok Shaq Attaq "Orlando" kicked off one of the biggest sneaker partnerships of the 90s. The story of Shaquille O’Neal and Reebok began before the big man’s first signature sneaker hit the market. Shaq strolled on to Nike’s Beaverton campus to discuss a potential endorsement deal but knowing that Nike wasn’t going to come close to Reebok’s deal that was already on the table, he showed up in head-to-toe Reebok gear, elevating one of the biggest sneaker rivalries to new levels. About 4 months later, Reebok had the Shaq Attaq ready for Shaquille O’Neal. The original colorway of the Shaq Attaq featured Reebok’s iconic Pump on the semi-gloss Azure blue tongue, a white leather upper with black nubuck overlays, Reebok’s vector logo in grey and Shaq’s newly create Dunkman logo on the heel. The Orlando Magic inspired colorway became legendary thanks to Shaq’s performance as a rookie, which included destroying rims and backboards around the NBA on his way to averaging 23.4 points, 13.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game. The "Orlando" Shaq Attaq became one of Shaq’s most important sneakers and like many players of the era he often swapped laces, opting for contrasting black instead of the traditional white. When originally released, the Reebok Shaq Attaq Orlando retailed for $100 and the 2013 retro version was priced at $160. 1821 ea83b082-220d-45ef-bb1f-86afeb94c41a Please Note: due to natural aging, deadstock pairs may come a functioning pump unit.
