Behind the Design:
During the first COVID lockdown in 2019—a time that sparked what seemed to be a universal interiors renaissance—Cherry Kim started Rhee Studio by illustrating iconic collectible chairs onto Carhartt pants with markers; a study into the epochal furniture pieces she admired, made approachable and wearable.
Rhee Studio has since sat proximal to the furniture and interiors world. Kim has collaborated with interior and furniture design studios and most recently created Upperhand, a larger-than-life workwear-leaning glove that acts as a cover for a commercialized hand chair, as part of the ‘Art & Residence’ exhibition at Salone del Mobile.
