Product Description
The story of what might have been inspired the Reebok Kamikaze II "Letter Of Intent" colorway. Most sneaker enthusiasts and basketball fans are familiar with 6-time NBA All Star and Slam Dunk Contest competitor, Shawn Kemp. What might not be as memorable is where he was supposed to go to college. Kemp signed a "Letter Of Intent" to go to the University of Kentucky and play for the Wildcats. As it turned out, he didn’t score high enough on his SATs to get in. He also was accused of stealing from Sean Sutton, who just happened to be son of then UK coach, Eddie Sutton. Of course, the world has a way of straightening things out and Kemp went on to become a star in the NBA and his Kamikaze signature sneakers came to represent an entire generation of Seattle basketball fans. The Letter Of Intent Kamikaze II features the traditional Kentucky Wildcats colors of blue (Team Dark Royal) and white on one of the most popular Reebok sneakers from the 90s. Along with the unique story and colorway, the Kamikaze II features Hexalite cushioning and a combination of nubuck and leather. The Letter Of Intent Reebok Kamikaze II Mid released at footwear retailers in August of 2013 and if its sales were graded like an SAT, it didn’t score well.
